Education Resources

Education is the backbone of a successful society. Every human being should have the right, privilege, and opportunity to get the best education possible. Unfortunately in our world, this is often not a reality for many underserved groups of people. Education falls by the wayside as people struggle to find food, shelter, and healthcare. Changing the social infrastructure is an enormous endeavor requiring manpower, money, non-profit organizations like CRP, and agreement among opposite ends of the political spectrum. Community Reform Project will start by educating people where they are so they can be resources where they live! Ignite Change.

Professional Skills Training

Times are changing! This years trending soft skills will be the essential interpersonal skills that make or break our ability to get things done in our current jobs and take on new opportunities ahead.

Topping this year’s list are creativity, collaboration, persuasion, and emotional intelligence—all skills that demonstrate how we work with others and bring new ideas to the table.  Four of the five most in-demand soft skills remain in their top spots year over year, further reinforcing that these skills are evergreen—they’re likely to remain the top skills that companies want in star employees.   The one variation in the most in-demand soft skills list indicates that companies are gravitating toward talent with interpersonal and people-oriented skills. ‘Time management’, a more task-oriented skill, fell off the top soft skills list. ‘Emotional intelligence’ took its place. While task-oriented skills remain critical to our success at work, the data shows that employers value our ability to work well with colleagues. CRP will provide mentor programs, internships, and workshops to its participating communities involved in order to prepare its citizens. Ignite Change.

Financial Literacy

The particular benefits of financial literacy will differ depending on a person’s circumstances, but some common situations in which financial literacy can help include:

  • Saving for retirement.
  • Creating and sticking to a balanced budget.
  • Purchasing a home.
  • Selecting insurance.
  • Reducing expenses.
  • Investing.
  • Buying a car.
  • Saving for college.
  • Managing debt.
  • Using credit cards.

Why financial literacy is important

Financial literacy is important because it equips people with an understanding of basic financial concepts to inform their real-world financial decisions. With this knowledge in hand, they’re better able to manage their money, make sound decisions, and maintain healthy spending and budgeting habits, which over time can lead to financial wellness.

The importance of financial literacy becomes especially clear when considering the financial challenges that many people face.

To address these issues, leaders in education, non-profits, business, and the government are stepping up efforts to provide financial education and expand financial literacy across the United States. Community Reform Group will offer a variety of resources to many of its citizens in participating communities.

What it means to be financially literate.

Put simply, to be financially literate means someone has an understanding of essential financial concepts. These include:

  • Budgeting.
  • Saving.
  • Credit.
  • Debt.
  • Insurance.
  • Financial decision-making.

Wellness & Lifestyle

We all want to live in safe and healthy communities. Yet too often, laws, policies, and lack of investment deprive communities of the resources they need to thrive. The negative effects of this disinvestment are easily seen. But the processes, systems, and thinking behind the disinvestment are too often hidden.

As a result, communities of color disproportionately suffer from structural inequities in environmental justice, community violence, gun violence, and youth incarceration. These are just a few of the important areas that affect the health of individuals and communities.

Communities know what they need. When we listen to people in communities who have been most affected by historical neglect and racial injustice, our job is made clear.

Community Reform Project- will provide resources that support the health, safety, and resilience of communities of color, especially those that have been disproportionately affected by unhealthy environments, and lack of resources. Ignite Change.
